Matthew Major’s path may look accelerated, but it has been built on discipline, intention, and a willingness to step into discomfort early.
Before arriving at the °µÍøTV, he had already earned his associate degree alongside his high school diploma. His foundation was shaped through JROTC, where he rose to cadet chief petty officer, and through his selection as the sole representative from his school for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Leadership Academy.
At USF, he continued that pace and is on track to complete his bachelor’s degree in human resources management in just two years.
His professional experience reflects the same momentum. As an HR intern with Hillsborough County, he rotated across talent acquisition, benefits, investigations, and fiscal operations, later becoming a county employee. During the 2024 hurricane season, he saw firsthand how HR systems support stability in moments of crisis.
As an HR partner intern with Amazon, he led two site initiatives, increasing employee-led group participation by 335% and boosting engagement by 500%. He also developed an AI-powered response prototype that was selected for further consideration beyond his site.
On campus, Major co-founded USF’s SHRM chapter, building a professional community for students, and serves as director of curriculum for the Bayar Fellowship, supporting emerging leaders.
