Jimmy Duplass, Ph.D.

Jimmy Duplass received his Ph.D. from Saint Louis University. During his academic career, he served in various administrative roles and faculty positions at Saint Louis University, Loyola, Wayne State, the Pennsylvania State University, and the University of South Florida. During his tenure at USF, the social studies education program grew to be the largest in the country with an exceptional record of publications by the faculty and students.  

Professor Duplass’ research focus has been on the philosophy and theory of democratic ideology formation and the methods used in the U. S. to enculturate students into the flow of the democratic ethos. During his career, Jimmy published multiple academic articles and nine books. Following his retirement, Jimmy continued to be active in his scholarly pursuits having been appointed a Fullbright Scholar to Latvia in 2022 and awarded a second Fulbright to the Kingdom of Jordan in Spring of 2027.
