The 30-credit-hour MS in Data Intelligence provides a strong foundation in statistics, data mining, optimization, and applied data analysis to prepare students for real-world problem-solving across industries. All students complete 14 credit hours of core coursework before customizing their degree through one of three tracks: Decision Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, or General Data Intelligence. With flexible learning formats and options for both U.S. and international students, this program equips graduates with the analytical, technical, and decision-making skills needed to excel in today’s data-driven world.
Designed for students who want to turn data into action, this track explores statistical and machine learning methods for dynamic, data-driven decision-making. Coursework covers system design, optimization, supply chain analytics, logistics, and more. Classes are offered in synchronous formats with primarily distance learning and some in-person options. This is for engineers looking to impact business strategy.
Ideal for students focused on computing, big data, and predictive modeling, this track teaches how to mine large datasets, uncover patterns, and forecast outcomes in business and industry. This is for engineers wanting to focus on how artificial intelligence can be used to impact business decisions. Courses are asynchronous and fully online, mirroring the curriculum of the .
For students seeking maximum flexibility, this track allows mixing courses from both the Decision Intelligence and Computational Intelligence tracks. Learning options include synchronous online, primarily distance learning (PD), and in-person courses.
International applicants: Please note that to meet international student visa requirements, students must be enrolled full-time each semester (fall and spring), which is at least nine credit hours (only up to three of these credit hours can be online). Due to these restrictions, international students may only be able to select either the Decision Intelligence Track or the General Data Intelligence Track. For questions about student visa requirements, contact USF International Services.
