The (COPH) is welcoming several leadership transitions this summer as faculty members take on new roles across the college and USF Health.
The appointments recognize years of service to the college while supporting its continued focus on education, research, faculty development and community engagement.
"Several leadership transitions within the COPH this summer are planned, each with the goal of advancing our mission of excellence in education, research, service and community engagement," said COPH .
Dr. Janice Zgibor named dean of the Taneja College of Pharmacy

Dr. Janice Zgibor has been appointed dean of the and senior associate vice president of .
Zgibor previously served as senior associate dean for academic and student affairs in the COPH, where she led curricular reforms, expanded academic initiatives and helped guide the college's student and academic affairs operations.
"We all express our profound gratitude for her outstanding leadership and service to the COPH," Vermund said. "Dr. Zgibor's curricular and management reforms have made a lasting impact on our college."
While congratulating Zgibor on her new role, Vermund said he looks forward to continuing collaborations between the two colleges in areas including pharmacoepidemiology and workforce development.
Dr. Jaime Corvin to lead academic and student affairs

Following Zgibor's appointment, COPH alumna will become senior associate dean for academic and student affairs.
Corvin has served the COPH in several leadership and faculty roles, contributing to curriculum development, academic planning and public health practice while mentoring students and faculty.
"Dr. Corvin is a highly respected leader, educator and scholar who has made significant contributions to the COPH," Vermund said. "Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, academic innovation and public health practice."
Dr. Tricia Penniecook transitions to leadership center

After serving as vice dean for faculty and global affairs, will become director of the .
Penniecook also played a central role in leading the college through its successful Council on Education for Public Health reaccreditation process while supporting faculty development and professional growth.
"I am pleased that she will continue her commitment to leadership development in her new role," Vermund said. "With her extensive experience in leadership, public health practice and organizational excellence, she is exceptionally well positioned to guide the center's continued growth and expand opportunities for leadership training."
Dr. Ellen Daley assumes new vice dean role

will serve as the college's first vice dean for research and faculty, a newly established position designed to support faculty success and oversee the college's growing research portfolio.
Daley has held senior leadership positions within the college for the past decade and has led initiatives focused on research, faculty mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration.
"Her vision and experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and nurture a strong and productive faculty, increase our research portfolio and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the college," Vermund said.
Dr. Tim Henkel joins COPH in faculty affairs role

The college also welcomed as interim associate dean for faculty affairs and a visiting associate professor in the .
Henkel comes to the college after seven years as assistant vice provost for teaching and learning at USF, where he founded the . Originally trained as a marine ecologist, he brings experience in faculty development, academic leadership and instructional innovation.
"I am confident that Dr. Henkel's expertise, collaborative leadership style and commitment to faculty excellence will further strengthen our support for faculty professional growth and success," Vermund said.
As the new appointments take effect, Vermund said the transitions reflect the college's commitment to building on the work of its faculty leaders while continuing to advance its mission across education, research and public health practice.
