Transition process update from Brian Verkamp
Dear USF team member,
The university continues to support Sarasota-Manatee (SM) employees by developing a structured transition process. We will continue to prioritize clear communication, transparency, consistent guidance and well-defined next steps. Our goal is to ensure employees receive timely updates, understand the position-matching process and have access to appropriate support throughout the transition period.
Employees can expect:
- Regular updates.
- Opportunities to ask questions through campus visits and office hours.
- Individualized information about potential position matches, timelines and available transition options.
- Close coordination between HR and USF leadership to review employee placements, address unique situations and ensure decisions are documented and communicated clearly.
The transition process will include a phased approach for reviewing available positions, identifying potential matches and confirming placements. Employees in unique circumstances, such as those needed through the transition or those not matched during the initial review period, will receive additional review and guidance.
This approach is intended to provide all Sarasota-Manatee employees with transparency, consistency, and support throughout the transition process. Employees can contact the HR support team by emailing HR-SMSupport@usf.edu.
