Honors Students Envision Accessibility with AI at the 2026 Grand Challenge
This spring, the Judy Genshaft Honors College’s Grand Challenge combined artificial intelligence and student creativity together to make museums more accessible for guests with disabilities. The winners of the challenge produced strategic projects with the guest experience at the heart of the designs, and they are now implementing their work in local museums in the Tampa Bay area.

USF Student Advances to Global Finals of Red Bull Basement Competition
Sahasra Upputuru represented the °µÍøTV at the Red Bull Basement World Final where she competed for $100,000 in start-up funding after placing among the top three competitors in the United States with her cybersecurity application, SafeStep Secure.

College of Engineering student Daniela Zamora Alviarez was recognized as the 2026 Wilcox Outstanding Graduate and received the USF Golden Bull Award, the GEM Fellowship, and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship in recognition of her work to advance energy-efficient computing through research in nanotechnology and materials science.
