These five workshops are designed to help instructors start the semester with confidence by introducing key tools, resources, and teaching practices used at USF. The series is especially valuable for those who are new to teaching at USF or looking for a refresher on core digital teaching tools and services.

Honorlock: Setup, Exam Review and Best Practices

Honorlock has seen some significant changes this past year. In this session we will cover setup, exam review, best practices for using Honorlock, and more.

Canvas Fundamentals

Get your course launch-ready! This hands-on session focuses on the must-know Canvas features you need before the semester begins. We'll dive into the setup essentials, including how to customize your course navigation menu and integrate Microsoft Teams for powerful communication. You will be able to follow along to set up your course in real-time!

Course Enhancement with AI

In this session, you will learn how to effectively leverage AI to enhance your course(s) and streamline administrative tasks. We will practice prompting, explore practical AI use cases for course enhancement, review examples from peer faculty, and develop a personalized AI Course Enhancement Plan. This workshop is designed for all skill levels, from those new to AI to experienced users.

When Plans Change: Keeping Learning on Track

When unexpected disruptions occur, a little preparation can go a long way. In this workshop, you'll learn practical strategies for maintaining academic continuity, including communicating with students, preparing asynchronous content in Canvas, and leveraging Digital Learning resources to keep learning on track.

MS Teams Essentials and Newest Updates

In this session, we provide you with the most critical Teams features in preparation for the semester launch. This includes the newest way to connect (synch) your Canvas course to Teams, setting up a Teams meeting, recording, and general best practices when using Teams. Attendees are encouraged to follow along and set up their course as we work through the steps.

This session includes time for a hands-on approach to dive into an online course and try out the tools.

Strategies for Success: Guiding Students to Thrive in Your Course

I have never met a student that began my course thinking, "I hope I do terrible this semester." If we come to the conclusion that no student *wants* to fail, then how do we help them to succeed?

This workshop will demonstrate ways create and share targeted success resources early in the term. Topics include time management tailored to your assignments, effective reading/note-taking for your content, Canvas navigation, and basic metacognitive practices. Faculty will see examples of these topics in action and how to embed them in your course to help students to thrive in the learning environment you create.
